Sue is a solicitor, campaigner and strategic communications consultant, who has driven from the age of 14 (off road) and has petrol in her veins, thanks to her late father’s passion for cars and refusal to accept she wasn’t a boy. When she recently became a grandmother she reluctantly surrendered the Porsche she had driven for nearly a decade and now whizzes around in the fastest MINI Cooper S convertible she could find. It was drowned in the July 2007 floods in the Cotswolds but has risen phoenix-like with a new engine and continues to be great fun. She aims to be a role model for feisty grandmothers everywhere. More about her can be found at www.suestapely.com.

Stuart is a water conservation engineer who has inherited, poor man, his mother’s, father’s and his grandfather’s motoring addiction and has rallied and raced original Mini Coopers all over Europe. He now lives in Melbourne, Australia, consulting to the water providers all over the country and drives a classic Mercedes-Benz on the grounds that the roads in Oz are so dull you might as well be air-conditioned and comfortable. His cherished classic white and green Downton Cooper S Clubsport Mini remains safely stored in Holland awaiting his ultimate return to Europe and rallying.

Stuart is an experienced and trophy-winning rally driver and Sue has clocked up many thousands of miles behind the wheels of various old cars over many years and somewhere there are still a few trophies acquired in old MGs, Porsches and the like.
